7. Airline Disruptions and Refunds

What happens if the airline cancels my flight?

We will help communicate the options offered by the airline, which may include an alternative flight, credit or refund. Your Australian Consumer Law rights still apply.

Do you charge when the airline cancels my flight?

No Big Daddy Travel service fee applies when the airline cancels the flight or makes a qualifying major schedule change. Any airline, supplier or intermediary amount is separate.

What is a qualifying major schedule change?

This depends on the airline policy, the extent of the disruption and applicable law. Contact us with your booking reference so we can check the available remedies.

How long does a refund take?

Timing depends on airline or supplier approval and return of funds. After processing, your bank or card provider may need additional time to display the credit.

What if I miss my flight?

Contact us and the airline immediately. A no-show can cancel remaining sectors and may make the ticket non-refundable.

We can submit an eligible request to the airline, but it is not guaranteed until the airline confirms it. Contact us early.

Are optional add-ons refundable?

Optional add-ons are generally non-refundable once arranged or supplied, unless provider conditions or Australian Consumer Law require otherwise.

9. Travel Requirements

Who is responsible for passports and visas?

Each passenger is responsible for the correct passport, visa, transit authority, health documents and entry permission for every destination and transit point.

Can you confirm whether I need a visa?

We can provide general guidance, but rules and individual circumstances vary. Confirm requirements with the relevant embassy, consulate or official government source.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Consider cancellation, medical, baggage and delay cover, and review exclusions and pre-existing condition rules.

When should I arrive at the airport?

Follow airline and airport instructions and allow extra time for check-in, security, immigration, baggage and disruptions.

What types of documents are required to travel?

For domestic travel, you may need valid government-issued photo identification. For international travel, you generally need a valid passport, visa where required, transit documents, health or vaccination documents where applicable, and any other documents required by the destination, transit country, airline, or government authority.

How long should my passport be valid for international travel?

Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your travel date. Requirements vary by destination, transit point, nationality, visa type, and airline, so you should check official government and airline requirements before travel.

Can I travel with a one-way ticket to another country?

Some countries may require proof of onward or return travel depending on your passport, visa status, destination, transit point, and airline requirements. You are responsible for ensuring that you meet all entry, transit, and travel requirements before departure.
